Trade Show Stand
Hijos De Barreras - Seatrade Cruise Global
Hijos de Barreras, a Spanish company specializing in ship design & construction, has been building award-winning ships since 1892 and has dominated the European market but is now moving to the North American market. It’s interesting to point out that they had just begun to design a cruise ship for Ritz-Carlton hotels.
This was their first ever trade show event in the U.S. and they wanted their participation to make a “splash.” Knowing this we were inspired by the maritime theme and decided against a regular flat, symmetrical design instead opting to add a 3D element but we also needed to keep within budget and the spacing parameters.
We wanted to recreate the form of waves on the ocean and so we designed the HDB trade show stand based on the pattern made by these waves so as to give an interesting nautical theme in line with the company’s brand in terms of color scheme and services.
The finished stand was a 20×20 square foot Peninsula design.
The stand was designed with ½’ PVC laminates, cut precisely with our CND equipment and using aluminum structures from the Octanorm brand. This allowed for the wave design and the curved arch so as to represent large waves in the ocean.
We also used a print cloth to be able to cover the large backing image. A special type of vinyl was used for the flooring to imitate real hardwood floor. We illuminated certain angles of the stands with a blue LED hue to emphasize certain curvatures and graphics while benefitting the brand’s color scheme.
We provided in-house furniture rental, lighting, and installation and storage compartments both in the stand’s closet area and hidden compartments behind the reception counter so that they could hold their materials neatly.
